I am a child and adolescent counsellor, I work with young people from ages 5 to 19. I am a CAMHS counsellor for Relate working with clients with complex issues I also work for Lifecentre working with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma and in primary and secondary schools as a School Counsellor as well as my practice here in Hampton, Surrey. I trained to specifically work with children and young people at the Institute for Art in Therapy and Education in London. I am an integrative counsellor which means that I use different theories to inform my practice depending on what feels right for my client. Some of the issues that I have worked with are anxiety, attachment disorder, anger management, behaviour problems, bullying depression, domestic violence, emotional abuse, feeling sad, low self confidence, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties with family and peers, self-harm, sexual trauma, stress, trauma. This list is not exclusive, we can discuss in your free telephone consultation if I am able to work with your child.
I work with both short term and long term contracts, short term is typically 8 - 12 weeks, longer term can be open ended depending on what works best for you.
I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate, up to date safeguarding training and am GDPR compliant.
I am a registered member of BACP - the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to their ethical guidelines, which can be found on their website www.bacp.co.uk, this includes attending regular supervision and continued professional development.
