I trained at The Institute for Art in Therapy and Education as an integrative counsellor which means that I use different theories to inform my practice depending on what feels right. Working from a relational perspective in that I believe the relationship between the counsellor and the client is central to the work. I am a certified Online and Telephone Counsellor. All contracts start with a free up to 30 minute phone call so that we can discuss your needs. If you then decide to book a session our first session will take the form of an assessment where I can meet the young person and we can decide what the focus of the work will be and if they would like to work with me.
Some of the issues that I have worked with are anxiety, attachment disorder, anger management, behaviour problems, bullying, depression, domestic violence, emotional abuse, feeling sad, low self confidence, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties with family and peers, panic attacks, self-harm, sexual trauma, stress, trauma. This list is not exclusive, we can discuss in your free telephone consultation if I am able to work with you.
Work can be either short term or long term and this can be reviewed regularly, short term is typically 8 - 12 weeks, longer term can be open ended depending on what works best for you.
